Dear Friends and Family,
As you probably know, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is a special organization to the Rogers family. If not for Rituxan, a drug developed with the help of LLS, our brother Chip might not be here. His Stage IV leukemia diagnosis in June of 2007, just the day before the sudden passing of our brother
Wade, might have left us without two brothers.
Two sisters, with the help of our brother Duke, are back running for the cause. Louise, who pledged $26,000 to inspire Carroll to raise an additional $26,000 while training for the
Seattle Marathon in 2009, is breaking out her running shoes this time. She will run her first half-marathon with LLS’s Team in Train-ing in Alaska on June 18, while Carroll runs the Alaska full marathon. Together we hope to raise $20,000 and bring the total raised by “Because, Brothers” to over $100,000 between the
Atlanta Half-Marathon,
Seattle and three
Light the Night Walks in Raleigh organized by our sister-in-law Carrie.
Two years into remission, Chip is enjoying life with his new love Liz, her children Alex and Drake, and his beloved husky Natasha. We keep fighting so he won’t ever have to face a risky bone marrow transplant and to help other families facing daunting diagnoses in Georgia and North Carolina.
“I can attest firsthand the money TNT raises is crucial in the fight against blood cancers,” Chip said. “The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society also helps with expenses ranging from hospital parking to chemo meds. Even with good insurance, you’d be amazed how fast costs add up.”

With love and heart-felt thanks,
